A head-to-head oled tv comparison to help you pick the right one for your room.

Verdict
The C5 is brighter and slightly better at handling a lit room, but the C4 delivers most of the same picture for meaningfully less. In a dark room the gap is small. Buy the C4 unless the room has real ambient light or you want the newest processing; buy the C5 if you are keeping the TV for a decade.
| LG C4 OLED evo, 65 in | LG C5 OLED evo, 65 in | |
|---|---|---|
| Panel generation | Previous year OLED evo | Current year OLED evo |
| Peak brightness | High | Higher |
| Bright-room performance | Good | Better |
| Dark-room performance | Essentially identical | Essentially identical |
| Gaming | 4 x HDMI 2.1, 144 Hz | 4 x HDMI 2.1, 144 Hz |
| Value | Stronger, discounts deeper | Pays a premium for newest |
Your room is light-controlled, or you would rather put the difference toward speakers. In a dark room the two are very hard to tell apart, and the older model is the one that gets discounted.

The TV lives in a bright living room, or you replace displays rarely enough that one generation of processing and brightness is worth paying for.

In a dark room, rarely. The panels are close enough that most of the difference shows up with lights on or curtains open. If your room has real ambient light the extra brightness earns its keep; if it does not, the C4 is the better buy.
Yes. Both carry four HDMI 2.1 ports and support high refresh rates with VRR, which is unusual generosity; most TVs limit that to two ports.
Modern panels include pixel shifting and refresh routines that make burn-in unlikely with mixed viewing. Static logos for many hours a day, every day, remain the risk case.
