Both are excellent and they fail in different directions. LG uses a WOLED panel with a white subpixel, which helps brightness but slightly dilutes colour at high output. Samsung uses QD-OLED, which holds colour better when bright but can look slightly washed in a room with light hitting the screen. Buy the LG for a mixed-use room; buy the Samsung for a dark room where colour matters most.

You watch with some light in the room, or you own 4K discs and want Dolby Vision. Samsung still does not support Dolby Vision, which matters if your library uses it.
